ELI Assessment – Energy Leadership Index

The Energy Leadership™ Index Assessment (ELI Assessment) is a unique assessment that enables participants to hold up mirrors to their perceptions, attitudes, behaviours, beliefs, and overall leadership capabilities.

The ELI is a concrete tool to view your energy allocations at the present moment, and it offers valuable insights into what’s holding you back – specifically highlighting how to break through personal blocks and move forward.

Personality vs. Attitudinal Assessments

Personality assessments, such as Myers-Briggs or D.I.S.C., are valuable tools that pinpoint certain personality types and characteristics. This gives individuals the possibility to better understand their inherent strengths and weaknesses. By understanding your personality and how it relates to what you do, you can adapt your behaviour to ‘work with what you have.’

The ELI Assessment is an attitudinal assessment, which is based on an energy/action model. This assessment differs from personality assessments in that it’s not intended to label you as one personality type or another. Instead, it measures your current level of energy based on your perception of the world. Since attitude is subjective and based on past experiences, beliefs and attitudes, it can also be altered. An attitudinal assessment serves as a ‘snapshot’ of your current energy and activity, and provides a launch-point for desired change.

Benefits of the ELI Assessment

After completing the online assessment, you’ll work together with one of our ELI Master Practitioners to debrief your results. We will discuss how you can apply the deep insights and takeaways towards greater awareness and self-alignment. As part of the debrief, you’ll also learn about the seven levels of leadership, and how these play a role in how we ‘show up’ and interact with the world around us.

Using the ELI as a starting benchmark, you can begin to change your perceptions where they are not serving you. This results in a shift in consciousness, noticeable change in energy, and ultimately greater self-alignment. Once you realise that your level of consciousness informs your actions, you can move from functioning effectively to functioning optimally.

Behind the ELI Assessment

For those who love the scientific approach or are perhaps still a little sceptical of the ‘E-factor’ influence in our lives, we wanted to give some additional data and food for thought. From the initial theories of Einstein to the Quantum physicists who’ve changed our understanding of the world around us, here are a few things that we know:

Types of Energy

For practical discussion purposes, there are two types of energy. We need both types in balance, and while there is a healthful balance, each has its benefits and limitations:

Anabolic energy is a constructive and healing energy, and fosters the synthesis and growth. When we experience anabolic energy states, our body releases chemicals like insulin, HGH, serotonin and oxytocin. In return, these fuel a healthy feel-good state that supports positive action. One possible drawback of anabolic energy is that, when we feel open to too many possibilities, we may experience ‘paralysis by analysis’ at trying to choose the best option. This energy state is often characterised by statement that begin with ‘I want to…’, ‘I choose to…’

Catabolic energy is an energy that breaks down the body over time. It can be highly beneficial when in the fight-or-flight response due to real danger, because the adrenalin and cortisol release provides your body with a quick energy boost to move fast. But this kind of breaking-down process is highly detrimental when experienced for extended periods of time. It feels draining, resistant and constrictive. We often experience how it ‘eats away’ at our health, finances, success, and happiness over time. This energy state is often characterised by statement that begin with ‘I have to…’, ‘I need to…’

Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle

This principle reveals that, as our perception of an object changes, the object itself inherently changes. As we look at an object, we interact with it. We emit light and thought, which are both forms of energy, which permanently affect what we observe. For a very simplistic example, if we measured darkness with a flashlight, we would change the property of darkness to light.

What does this mean for us? It means that an increase in consciousness and awareness has the power to radically change us and the way we interact with our surroundings.
